II Sympozjum „Pamięć Europy” (European Remembrance Symposium) odbyło się między 10 a 12 października 2013 r. Prawie 200 przedstawicieli 120 instytucji i organizacji zajmujących się historią XX wieku z 23 krajów przyjechało do Berlina by dyskutować o współczesnej kulturze pamięci i związanej z nią edukacją historyczną. Sympozjum zorganizowała Europejska Sieć Pamięć i Solidarność, Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship oraz Europejskie Centrum Solidarności.

"Genealogies of Memory" seminar and discussion on the recently published book "Remembering Katyn" (Etkind, Finnin et al., Polity Press 2012). Some questions in Polish. The book explores the legacy of Katyn through the memory cultures of seven countries: Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic States. It shows how Katyn both incites nationalist sentiments in Eastern Europe and fosters an emerging cosmopolitan memory of Soviet terror.
