About the Creator

Hello! My name is Amelka. I am 10 years old. My family isn’t big. I live with my mum and dad. I don’t have any pets because my family travels a lot.

My great-grandfather Stanisław Małecki had a huge, old clock in his office. It was his favourite clock, that’s why when he retired, he decided to take that clock home and put it in the living room. The clock, as you can see in the photo, was situated between the wardrobe and the armchair. My great-grandmother Marysia couldn’t sleep due to it. The clock ticked so loudly that the whole tenement house heard it.

After a month my great-grandmother tired of insomnia forced my great-grandfather to sell the clock. Even though that clock was a very precious and important object, my great-grandfather decided to sacrifice it for love to my great-grandma. He took the clock to his friends and received a lot of money for selling it. It was a huge surprise to him when my great-grandma informed him a week later that she wasn’t able to sleep without the ticking of the clock. My great-grandpa returned to his friends to get the clock back. After very long negotiation, he finally got the clock back. But unfortunately it cost him a fortune!

This clock is still staying in my grandpa’s living room whose name is also Marek. As you can see in the attached photo it is a very old clock, probably from the 19th or 20th century.
