"My Auschwitz" written by Władysław Bartoszewski - presentation of the book

On 73th anniversary of The Wannsee Conference, The Topography of Terror Foundation organized a presentation of the book of prof. Władysław Bartoszewski, “My Auschwitz”.

The introduction was held by Prof. Monika Grütters, German Minister of Culture and the discussion was leaded by Prof. Dr. Gesine Schwan.

"My Auschwitz" was published in August 2014. Among the other articles, the book contains "Auschwitz. The Diary of a Prisoner" which was first published illegaly in 1942.

On 20 January 1942, 15 senior officials of Nazi Germany met in Berlin. The leader of the meeting was Reinhard Heydrich which was one of the most influential SS officers in Germany. The purpose of this conference was to ensure all administrative leaders about implementing of the “Final Solution (die Endlösung) to the Jewish Question”.


Heydrich pictured all the plan of deportations of European Jews and sending them to extermination camps.
As a result of the conference in 1942 a network of extermination camps was built in which millions of Jews were murdered.
