We are happy to inform that upon the decision of Mr. Zoltán Balog, Hungarian Minister of Human Capacities, Dr Iván Bába has been nominated the new coordinator of the Hungarian party and member of the ENRS Steering Committee. The previous coordinator, Prof. Attila Pók, has become a member of the Academic Council, while Dr. Zoltán Maruzsa has joined the Advisory Board.
Dr Iván Bába is Hungarian diplomat, journalist, political scientist and academic teacher. He is a graduate in English Philology from the Comenius University in Bratislava and in Hungarian Philology from the Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest. He has worked as a journalist for the Madách Publishing House in Bratislava and the Hungarian Radio in Budapest. In the 1980s, Dr Bába collaborated with such periodicals as Nagyvilág, Dátum and Magyarok as well as the Polish monthly Literatura na Świecie. From 1990 to 1994, he was director and then deputy Secretary of State in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was the Hungarian Ambassador in Poland (1998–2000) and Secretary of State in charge of Public Administration in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010–14). Currently, Dr Ivan Bába is a lecturer at the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
Dr Zoltán Maruzsa is a historian, political scientist, expert in German, and since 2012 Hungarian Deputy State Secretary for Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Capacities. He collaborated with such schools as Eötvös József College and Eötvös Loránd University. His research interests include the history of Germany and Austria during the Cold War and the general history of the 20th century. In March 2015 Dr Zoltán Maruzsa was appointed as a member of the ENRS Advisory Board.
