Festival of Freedom/ Festival Slobody in Bratislava

9-15 November 2015

The Festival of Freedom is a multi-genre festival dedicated to the period of oppression in Slovakia and other countries in the former Eastern bloc. It consists of films, exhibitions, discussions, theatre performances and the gala evening honoring those who participated in the fight with the totalitarianism.

This year the Festival of Freedom will go into regions as a one-day film festival accompanied with discussions and other interesting programme. At the end of November, it will be held in Prešov and Humenné. The event is organised under the auspices of the SR President Andrej Kiska, NR SR vice-chairman Ján Figeľ, Minister of Culture Marek Maďarič and the Mayor of the capital city Bratislava Ivo Nesrovnal. European Network Remembrance and Solidarity is the main partner of the event, organised by Nation's Memory Institute in Slovakia. Detailed programme of the Festival can be found here: www.festivalslobody.sk

Documentary film 'Freedom Express" will be shown during the Festival on the 10,11 and 12 November, always at 10 a.m. in the Cinema Lumiere.
