Recruitment for Sound in the Silence is now open

We invite teachers to apply for the 2018 edition of the Sound in the Silence project. Deadline: 6 May.

If you have a real passion for teaching and want to be a part of an international project combining history and art, we invite you to apply to the Sound in the Silence project. We are looking for committed high school teachers from EU countries to take part with their students in an intercultural and interdisciplinary remembrance project.

This year 4 selected groups from 4 European countries will spend 9 days, between 23 September and 2 October, visiting Warsaw, Poland, to explore the history of the two Warsaw uprisings – Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943 and Warsaw Uprising of 1944. They will learn about their history, with a special attention given to the forms of resistance.

While your students will take part in historical and art workshops, you will be able to discuss the possibilities of non-formal education with other teachers.

Select seven of your best students and take them on a journey through the noteworthy aspects of our history, helping them develop a positive attitude towards other people, cultures and values in the process. During the Sound in the Silence recruitment we will select four teachers from four different countries, each heading a team of seven students.

To be eligible to apply, you need to teach at an upper secondary school located in one of the member states of the European Union. The students which you would like to engage in the project must be between 14 and 19 years old. All participants must have a good command of English (at least B2 level). Recruitment will be possible online via the project's website.

Organiser cover all costs.
