Prof. Stefan Troebst is a historian and slavist. Worked as a historian at the Free University of Berlin (1984-1992). From 1992 to 1995 he was a member of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe mission to Macedonia and Moldova. He was director of the Danish-German European Centre for Minority Studies (EMCI) in Flensburg. Since 1999 he has been Professor of Cultural Studies of Central and Eastern Europe at the University of Leipzig and Deputy Director of the Leipzig Humanist Centre for History and Culture of Central and Eastern Europe (GWZO).
Member of the Scientific Council of the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity until March 2019.
