Gernika Peace Museum, Basque Country, Spain
We invite you to the final performance of the Sound in the Silence 2026 project.
The performance will be prepared by an international group of youth in cooperation with a team of artists and educators. Sound in the Silence is an interdisciplinary remembrance project aimed at encouraging high school students from all over Europe to reflect actively on the complexities of 20th-century history through artistic means.
This year's edition takes place in Gernika, Basque Country, and focuses on the bombing of the town on 26 April 1937 and the broader context of the Spanish Civil War. Through artistic workshops, students engage with the experiences of civilians who lived through the violence, displacement and disinformation that surrounded the attack, developing an original performance that reflects on memory, silence and resilience.
Date: 10 October 2026 at 6 p.m.
