1968 - March Events in Poland

location: Poland

The March Events in Poland pertain to student protests erupting in Warsaw in early 1968 after the removal from the stage of the National Theatre of Forefathers’ Eve directed by Kazimierz Dejmek. The student strikes were used by the communist regime as an excuse for inter-party cleansing, accompanied by an anti-Semitic campaign.
