The Horizon Europe projects B-SHAPES and NARDIV invite scholars, PhD students, and stakeholders to the international conference Narratives of Europe in Uncertain Times, taking place in Warsaw on 5–6 March 2026.
Amid growing divides in Europe—sparked by crises like Brexit, migration, war, and rising populism—this event seeks to explore how narratives about Europe, borders, and identity are shaped across regions and communities, particularly in border areas.
The conference welcomes contributions on Euroscepticism, minority experiences, border landscapes as heritage, colonial/postcolonial discourses, and more. Scholars from European, Regional, and Border Studies are especially encouraged to apply. Fully funded panels for researchers and PhD students based in Poland or Germany are available.

About the B-SHAPES Project
B-SHAPES: Borders shaping European Societies investigates how borders affect our understanding of society, culture, heritage, and belonging in Europe, especially amid increasing re-bordering dynamics. The project brings a unique lens to policy development by connecting border studies with cultural and social research.
