Collectivization of Agriculture Begins in Romania

The Romanian communist regime officially launched the collectivization of agriculture, aiming to eliminate private land ownership. Peasants were forced to join collective farms, often through intimidation, arrests, and violence. The process profoundly transformed rural society and lasted until 1962.
