Commemorating Warsaw’s Deportees: Sound in the Silence 2025 Finale

On Saturday, 4 October 2025, residents of Warsaw and beyond are invited to take part in a unique educational and artistic initiative that commemorates the tragic fate of more than 650,000 civilians expelled from the capital during and after the Warsaw Uprising.

The event, titled “Warsaw Passed through Here,” guides audiences along a symbolic route once taken by Varsovians deported to the Dulag 121 transit camp in Pruszków. The performance is created by secondary school students from Cyprus, Spain, Poland and Romania as part of the international educational programme , which starts on 27 September.

During an over week-long workshop, participants will explore the history of the deportations and the story of Dulag 121. Their reflections take shape in an original performance combining theatre, rap, choreography and personal texts. The project is guided by an international team of artists: Dan Wolf (USA), hip-hop creator; Kat Rampackova (Slovakia), choreographer; and Sean Palmer (UK), musician and performer.

The initiative is organised by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) in cooperation with the Dulag 121 Museum.

The performance begins at Warsaw Główna Station and concludes at the Dulag 121 Museum, followed by a discussion with artists, educators and students. Admission is free, and the event is held in English.
