Day of Mourning and Commemoration (Estonia)

The Day of Mourning and Commemoration observed in Estonia on 14 June commemorates the victims of the mass Soviet deportations in 1941 and 1945-1951. More than 30 000 people from Estonia were dispatched to remote area of the USSR.

The two largest waves of the forced resettlements were carried out in June 1941 and March 1949 simultaneously in all three Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).
