Destruction of Lidice

As reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, General of Police and SS-Obergruppenführer, the Czech village of Lidice was massacred and completely destroyed in June 1942. All visible remains of the village were removed, and in total about 340 people, including women and children, were killed. A week later the Czech village of Ležáky also got destroyed and it’s Innocent civilians killed.
