Dr Małgorzata Pakier, head of the Academic Unit at the ENRS, will participate in the final discussion of the 2nd Polish Conference of Memory Studies. The event entitled "Memory Studies in Poland and on Poland" (Polish: Studia nad pamięcią w Polsce i o Polsce) will take place in Warsaw between 5 and 7 December 2019.

The conference will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest developments within Polish Memory Studies and is organised by the Maria Grzegorzewska Pedagogical University, Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences as well as Institute of Sociology at University of Warsaw. Panels will cover new theories on collective memory, biographical narrations and oral history, past within urban materiality, museology - among others.

The discussion with Dr Małgorzata Pakier will aim at summarizing the most relevant and promising notions presented during the conference. Other speakers will include Prof. Andrzej Szpociński (Polish Academy of Sciences) and Dr Joanna Wawrzyniak (University of Warsaw, co-convenor of the ENRS's Genealogies of Memory series). Zuzanna Bogumił (Maria Grzegorzewska Pedagogical University) will moderate.
