ENRS Annual Assemblies Meeting 2026

On 27 May 2026, the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) held its annual Assemblies meeting on the occasion of the European Remembrance Symposium, bringing together representatives from across Europe to discuss governance, strategy, and the Network's ongoing activities.

The meeting drew more than 40 participants from 10 countries, representing both member and observer states. Those gathered included members of the Steering Committee, Academic Council, Advisory Board, and Editorial Board, as well as observers and ENRS staff.

The meeting opened with a speech by Eduard Heger, former Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic. The agenda covered a broad range of topics, including policy and strategic discussions, concept development, cooperation and governance updates, and reports on ENRS activities.

We were pleased to welcome four new members participating in the Assemblies for the first time: Prof. Martin PekárDr Marína Zavacká, and Oľga Gyárfášová from Slovakia, and Karol Madaj from Poland.

The Assemblies also took the opportunity to two long-serving chairpersons: Prof. Attila Pók, Chairman of the Academic Council, who continues as a member of the Editorial Board, and Robert Kostro, Chairman of the Advisory Board. We likewise thanked Prof. Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski, Andrzej Nowak, Róbert Letz, Ján Budaj, and Zoltán Maruzsa, whose terms of office have come to a close. Their contributions to the work of the ENRS have been invaluable.
