The Foundation of the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (FENRS) has been nominated for the BohaterON 2026 Award in the Non-Profit Organisation category. The nomination recognises our commitment to innovative history education, international dialogue and bringing the experiences of the 20th century closer to younger generations. Public voting is open until 30 October 2026.
The BohaterON Awards, named in honour of the participants of the Warsaw Uprising, recognise individuals, organisations and institutions whose work contributes to preserving historical memory and promoting awareness of the past.
Our nomination highlights more than two decades of efforts to foster dialogue across borders, connect different perspectives on European history and develop educational initiatives that encourage critical thinking and active engagement with the past.
Particular recognition has been given to our work with young people and educators, including Sound in the Silence, an international educational project combining history, art and personal reflection at sites of remembrance, and Hi-Story Lessons, our multilingual educational platform offering teaching resources and webinars on 20th-century history.
These initiatives reflect our belief that history education should go beyond the transmission of facts. By creating opportunities for dialogue, creative expression and encounters with different perspectives, we encourage younger generations to explore the complexities of the past and consider their relevance to today's world.
