Falsification of parliamentary elections of '47 in Poland

On 19 January 1947 the first parliamentary elections since the Second World War were held in Poland. Their results were falsified so that the communist could take full control. A legal opposition no longer existed, and its leader, Stanisław Mikołajczyk, had to flee the country.
