We invite you to take part in the conference "From Crisis to Future: New Responsibilities for Museums in Ukraine." On 28 - 29 May, the James-Simon-Galerie in Berlin will host over a hundred institutions from all parts of Ukraine affected by the Russian invasion.
The conference will centre on Ukraine’s reconstruction and the strengthening of civil society. Representatives from Ukrainian museums have been diligently crafting plans for their involvement in national and regional rebuilding through weekly online workshops. This endeavor not only encompasses physical renovations but also addresses how museums can navigate the experiences, fears, and expectations of their visitors.
A key focus is empowering Ukrainian civil society. Some museums, deliberately destroyed or looted by Russia, are undergoing a process of reinvention, with digital offerings already in preparation to support this transition.
