See Prof. Jay Winter from Yale University share his personal reflections on the “After the Great War. New Europe 1918-1923” exhibition and the extremely important, yet often overlooked period in 20th-century history the display portrays.
In the four-minute clip Prof. Winter, who is a member of the Academic Council of the display, gives an overview of the main topics presented.
The footage was shot during a presentation in the French town of Verdun, one of the most important historical sites related to the First World War, in August 2019. The exhibition is as a result of cooperation between historians and experts from many countries. The aim of the project is to allow the visitors to learn about the variety of perspectives, experiences and attitudes in regard to the aftermath of the First World War and the emergence of the new order.
