The 13th European Remembrance Symposium & International Conference on the 50th Anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act is now underway in Helsinki, Finland.
Organised by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) with international partners, the event marks a pivotal Cold War milestone, the 1975 Helsinki Final Act, and its lasting impact on diplomacy, human rights, and civic activism.
Over four days, diplomats, scholars, and cultural leaders are gathering to discuss the evolution of security and diplomacy since 1975, the role of human rights and activism across borders, religion’s influence in the Helsinki Process, and how memory, civic courage, and reconciliation contribute to peacebuilding.
