We are happy to share the results of the recruitment process for the B-SHAPES Summer School: Landscape as Heritage, taking place in Zgorzelec/Görlitz from 22–24 August 2025.

The call for applications drew over 200 submissions from teachers and educators, representing a wide range of disciplines including history, sociology, political science, geography, and the arts. During the three-day summer school, participants will explore how borders shape both landscapes and perceptions through a series of border walks, photography workshops, and lectures on oral history and landscape studies. Together, we will co-create innovative teaching materials that inspire students to connect with their environments in thoughtful and engaging ways.

We thank everyone who applied and expressed interest in the programme.

This summer school is an educational project organized by ENRS as a component of the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action project “B-SHAPES: Borders Shaping Perceptions of European Societies”, coordinated by the Centre of Border Region Studies at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
