Signing of the Warsaw Pact

Treaty of Friendship, Co-operation, and Mutual Assistance known as The Warsaw Pact, was signed on 14 May 1955 in Warsaw. The Pact was a Soviet Union's reaction to accession of West Germany to NATO. It sanctioned subordination of the Eastern Bloc countries and their armies to the Soviet Union.
